This Staff Accountant position is for candidates who can prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. To thrive in this role, you will need to perform internal reporting during the monthly close, participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes. Special projects and impromptu reporting, upon request
Organize schedules for monthly payments and capital lease
Perform month end close, journal entries, with minimum supervision
Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls while ensuring that accounting procedures comply with GAAP
Periodically maintain and reconcile journal entries
Maintain fixed asset ledgers, depreciation, and reconciliation
Maintain intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation
Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
In-depth experience with reconciling month end balance sheet accounts
Prepare analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management to report on
Organize and review a variety of financial data, reporting it in a way that is useful and understandable
Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks
Take part in various department-wide initiatives
Knowledgeable of ERP systems
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Self-starter and strong ethical standards
Be detailed, flexible, and organized
3+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
Well-founded grasp of account reconciliation
General familiarity with Bank Account Reconciliation
Proven knowledge of Financial Statement
Wide ranging experience with Accounts Receivable (AR)
Practical knowledge of bank reconciliations
US GAAP experience desired
Journal Entry Preparation experience
Deep understanding of journal entries
Earlier work involving Dynamics Ax
Experience with Adjusting Journal Entries
General ledger experience
Quality experience with Accounts Payable (AP)
Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
Sharp, analytical thinking abilities, always seeking to draw connections and identify the "why"
Ability to meet deadlines
Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
