    What you'll be doing:

    • Lead the visioning and design efforts for one or more functional areas of Staples' web and mobile sites and apps.

    • Collaborate with product managers and developers to build a shared understanding of the feature opportunity, product vision, and design approach.

    • Create innovative, accessible, mobile-first, and responsive design solutions.

    • Communicate design direction and rationale to varied audiences, from engineers and product managers to senior leaders.

    • Facilitate rapid, iterative UX definition sessions by leading teams through design-driven exercises and discussions.

    • Define and present solutions through documents such as prototypes, comps, user flows, and wireframes.

    • Partner with the UX Research team on research plans to achieve a deep understanding of customers, workflows, and pain points.

    • Perform competitive benchmarks, audits, and expert reviews.

    • Review and respond to metrics and analytics to make better design decisions.

    What you bring to the table:

    • Expertise in all areas of UX design and a portfolio demonstrating a range of web and app design projects.

    • Excellent communication skills, including demonstrable skills in communicating design rationale.

    • Demonstrated ability to partner with product management, business stakeholders, and engineering.

    • Understanding and commitment to agile, design-driven methodologies

    • Experience creating and maintaining design systems and pattern libraries.

    • Experience with responsive design methods and approaches.

    • Expertise with standard UX design and prototyping tools.

    • Experience with all forms of user research, usability, and concept validation methods.

    What's needed- Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in a design-related program or equivalent experience in a related discipline

    • At least 5 years of hands-on UX Design experience

    What's needed- Preferred Qualifications:

    • Background in retail/e-commerce design

    • Visual and animation design expertise

    • Experience designing accessible web and mobile interfaces to meet WCAG standards.
