Tax Accountant

Job Description

Position Summary: One of Insight Global's major clients are seeking a Tax Accountant to join their team. The Tax Accountant will assist with the process of applying for and collecting tax credits at the RDU Airport Authority (the Authority). The person in this role will gather documentation and provide the support needed for the application of tax credits. This is a new process at the Authority, and it will involve fulfilling tax processes and filing requirements. It will also involve corresponding with Authority staff to collect required data and to ensure coordination is occurring. This position will have no direct reports. Daily responsibilities include:

* Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, variances, and percentages, and prepare financial statements

* Effectively present information in small and large group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization

* Demonstrate a sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines

* Remain technically current with accounting pronouncements

* Understand and apply policies to financial records and reports

* Maintain accurate records, reports, and electronic filing system

* Work with confidential materials, maintain confidentiality, and professional boundaries always

Skills and Requirements

Required Qualifications / skills:

* Minimum of 3 years of related work experience in an accounting role

* Bachelors degree in Accounting (Masters degree preferred)

* Knowledge of GAAP, regulatory standards, and compliance requirements

* Knowledge of Tax Accounting principles and practices

* MS Office (MS Word, MS Outlook, PowerPoint, MS Excel, Spreadsheet Server) Plusses:

* CPA null
