    The Opportunity

    This position works out of our Santa Clara, CA location in the Core Lab Division. Our diagnostic solutions are used in hospitals, laboratories, and clinics around the globe. The crucial information derived from our tests, instruments and informatics systems are often the first step in patient care decision making for hundreds of health conditions from heart attacks to blood disorders to infectious diseases and cancers.

    As the Supply Chain, Senior Manager , you'll overseeing the execution of gross margin improvement projects which includes but isn't limited to Third Party Manufacturing collaborations, in region sourcing, product transfers and sourcing negotiations with Tier 2 and 3 suppliers across the Hematology business. This role will work closely with Finance, Technical Operations, R&D, Quality, and Regulatory to ensure alignment that pursues aggressive cost savings opportunities, detailed project timelines, risk assessments with mitigations, and conducting due diligence of suppliers. Ideal candidate will understand best practices for manufacturing and can break down a recipe and/or bill of materials and manufacturing processes to support change notifications and material qualifications. Reporting into this role will consist of site Purchasing, Supply Chain, and Warehouse/Logistics.

    What You'll Work On

    • Works with global supply chain to identify opportunities to meet gross margin improvement objectives within budget as well providing the analysis on return on investment for in region sourcing and insourcing in general.

    • Provides project management for all GMI projects and presents to executive leadership on status projects and escalations.

    • Has a deep knowledge of the commodities within Instrument/Reagent Manufacturing, understands market changes/trends, knows the supplier landscape well, and evaluates cost structure to set and refresh strategy.

    • Supports Integrated Business Plan (IBP) data for GMI opportunities, elevations, and supplier metrics (capacity, inventory, OTIF, etc.).

    • Works with technical partners and cost forensics team to drives RFQs for Tier 2 and 3 suppliers that support current contracts or works with legal and procurement to negotiate amendments/new contracts.

    • Works with key stakeholders to look at capital/expense investments for product transfers.

    • Challenge status quo GMI initiatives and create rolling 3-year savings pipeline with guidance from engineering and collaborating with design in the early stages of development.

    • Performs due diligence during project requirement settings and presents project dashboards to leadership.

    • Optimize procedures and policies to ensure compliance across all regulations

    • Establish vision, strategy, and metrics for the Supply Chain Team.

    • Manage departmental budget and manage projects to minimize distressed inventory.

    • Manage warehouses and stores areas

    • Monitors processes for opportunities to improve safety and efficiency.

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

    • Minimum of 7 years related work experience.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Bachelors Degree preferred in Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, Supply Chain, or related fields

    • Advanced Degree preferred

    • 8+ years in procurement, supply chain or gross margin improvement management roles within the Biotech or Medical Device Industry.

    • Experience managing stakeholders in a cross-functional setting and works toward common business objectives.

    • Operational excellence mindset with training in continuous improvement

    • Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed project timelines for complex and fast-paced projects.

    • Excellent communication and presentation skills

    • Is meticulous, resourceful and takes initiative to drive actions to completion.

    • Has proven ability to collaborate with cross functional teams and influence others

    • Strong negotiation skills and contract experience

    • Excellent computer proficiencies in Microsoft Office Programs (Power BI, VBA and SQL are a plus)

    • Understand IVD environment with preference in Hematology

    • A good understanding of specified functional area: Business Planning, Financial management, Inventory management and optimization, Capacity planning, Purchasing and negotiation skills.

    • Has shown proven performance on cost savings strategies, including project transfers that were on time and within budget.

    • Builds effective relationships with internal and external customers/stakeholders that supports the growth of business through strong negotiations and a focus on innovative solutions.

    The base pay for this position is $144,100.00 - $288,300.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
