    Salary Range: $136-204k depending on experience and qualifications

    Position Summary:

    Bio-Techne is seeking a highly motivated and creative Staff Mechanical Engineer to lead and architect the design of analytical instruments from concepts to final products. This position will report into the development team working with a group of curious, innovative, and supportive engineers and scientists.

    This position involves the following responsibilities and skills

    • Use system level thinking to come up with designs for new products

    • Strong technical skills and critical thinking to efficiently solve complicated problems by providing mechanical, optical, fluidics, and material solutions

    • Expertise in precision mechanical and mechanism design

    • Design optical, detection, liquid handling, and automation systems

    • Optimize design for manufacturability and facilitate transfer to manufacturing

    • Support design optimization on existing products

    • Expert in Solidworks, familiar with PDM and PLM systems

    • Provide and receive constructive feedback with good intent

    • Support teammates with genuine interest

    Qualifications

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree required with 10 or more years of related work experience in mechanical engineering and design.

    • Prior experience in analytical instrumentation preferred.

    • Microfluidic design knowledge is desired.

    • Experience in relevant industries designing complex equipment with equal or greater complexity utilizing automation, detection, and high volume production will be considered.
