Staff Accountant

Description Robert Half is looking for a Staff Accountant for a long-term contract / temporary position. As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for the preparation of journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you will be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting. You will provide support in developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will participate in compliance, review schedules for the reporting processes, and work alongside our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. This very involved position works to produce Cash Flow projections, Financial Statements, and Budgets. Based in the Santa Fe Springs, California region, this company offers an engaging and mulit-faceted opportunity where effort is rewarded.

What you get to do every single day

• Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll

• Maintain fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation

• Support capital lease and monthly payment schedules

• Manage the design and creation of balance sheet analysis and communicate reports to management

• Offer succinct analysis on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a clear and concise manner

• Take part the in implementation and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP

• Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested

• Assist in monthly financial close workbook preparation, including annual closing process

• Conduct month end close, journal entries, without supervision

• Take part in various department-wide initiatives Requirements

• Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required

• Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel

• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent

• Proficient in ERP systems

• Self-starter and strong ethical standards

• Recent and relevant accounting experience

• Vow to meet business deadlines

• BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

• Exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills

• Excellent attention to detail
