Staff Accountant

Description

Jamie Benway with Robert Half is looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to assist in managing the financial transactions, records, and reporting for one of her growing clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about finance and wants to grow their career in a dynamic company.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports

• Reconcile bank statements and accounts

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions

• Process invoices and expense reports

• Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures

• Conduct variance analysis and provide explanations for discrepancies

• Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities

• Support internal and external audits

• Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

• CPA certification or progress towards CPA preferred

• 2+ years of experience in accounting or related field

• Strong understanding of GAAP principles

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP)

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
