This is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity in the Compton, California area, at a company where effort is rewarded. Candidates with the ability to to prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation and be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close will be preferred. This position will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes. You will be preferred for this role if you have a complex understanding of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets.

How you will make an impact

• Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules

• Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls while ensuring that accounting procedures comply with GAAP

• Periodically maintain and reconcile journal entries

• Thorough experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations

• Produce analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for reporting by management

• Maintain depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation

• Maintain intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation

• Partake in various department-wide initiatives

• Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks

• Produce journal entries and perform the month end close under minimal supervision

• Upon request, take part in special projects and impromptu reporting

• Coordinate and analyze a variety of financial data, then report it in a way that is useful and understandable

• Assemble journal entries and thorough account reconciliations that include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

Requirements - Spreadsheet and database capabilities

• Sharp, analytical thinking abilities, always seeking to draw connections and identify the "why"

• Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines

• ERP system experience

• Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision

• 2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience

• BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

• Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases

• High attention to detail

• General ledger experience

• Command of journal entries

• Foundational knowledge in bank reconciliations

• Balance Sheet Reconciliation experience

• Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required

• Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity
