  • GENERAL PURPOSE

    The Senior Project Manager (SPM) is a key member of the Health Equity Program Support Office (HEPSO), which supports the UR Medicine Clinical Enterprise in advancing programs and projects that address health equity. The mission of the office is to support innovative, coordinated, and population health-focused efforts to improve equitable access to care and services through strong program management, continuous process improvement, and data-informed decision-making structures. This role manages, leads, and guides complex health equity-focused projects within and across UR Medicine departments, service lines, affiliate hospitals, and community partners. A professional with advanced knowledge and experience in project management, clinical and administrative processes, and community partnership-building, the SPM works with a high level of independence and discretion to execute projects from initiation to completion, directly affecting institutional-level results related to health equity.

    JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    PROJECT MANAGEMENT:

    • Independently and with considerable latitude for judgment

    • Monitors the progress of project activities and ensures all critical implementation criteria are met; provides status reports to medical center and governance steering committees. (20%)

    • Manages project scope and timeline, using appropriate governance bodies and leadership direction. (5%)

    • Identifies, tracks, and manages risks and mitigation plans within assigned projects, escalating as appropriate. (15%)

    PROJECT COMMUNICATION

    • Facilitates project meetings using effective meeting techniques for objectives, agendas, participants, and meeting minutes. (15%)

    • Independently deploys and pivots actions to appropriately respond and negotiate through barriers presented by leveraging change management principles within meetings and throughout the project. (10%)

    • Develop/maintain reporting dashboards suitable for Sr. Leadership to communicate project status. Responsible for determining effective methods of translating complex information into accessible information throughout project lifecycle. (10%)

    • Conducts post-project "lessons learned" sessions to identify successful project elements and areas for future improvement and leverages that knowledge to successful manage the transition of programs to sustainable operations within home departments.

    PROJECT INITIATION :

    • Determines scope of new projects through collaboration with key stakeholders, involving individual leaders across service lines, and departments at all levels of leadership

    • Gathers input from cross-functional team members on required tasks and translates into a project plan with activities, dependencies, dates and timeframes, resource requirements, milestones, and deliverables while balancing competing demands

    • Collaborates with senior leader(s) outside of the department and across the enterprise to assign appropriate resources to the project.

    ANALYSIS & EVALUATION :

    • On a regular and ongoing basis, analyzes and interprets program information, identifying key drivers and underlying issues, performs appropriate in-depth queries and summarizes and presents findings and opportunities to leaders to achieve specified project goals.

    • Leads the development of Key Performance Indicators with Project Teams and prepares reports and presentations backed by data, financial analyses, and evidence-based methods when applicable.

    • Communicates and translates analysis and findings to diverse audiences with varied understandings of analytic principles.

    • Provides project evaluations pertaining to financial, utilization, clinical and departmental objectives.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's degree in related discipline such as Business or Health Care Administration, Public Health, Public Administration, or other related field required.

    • Master's degree in similar fields preferred.

    • 5 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.

    Preferred:

    • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills are essential.

    • Exhibits proficiency and ability to learn new software skills within a Windows-based environment (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access and SharePoint).

    • Proficiency in data analytics.

    • Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

    • Proven team member and ability to build stakeholder consensus in a complex environment.

    • Must possess exceptional judgment and ability to learn the needs of different components of the UR Medicine Enterprise.

    • Work independently with minimal guidance.

    • Demonstrates efficiency in prioritizing assignments, proactively resolving problems and recommending and implementing continuous quality improvement activities.

    • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask required.

    • Demonstrates accurate, grammatically correct documentation in all correspondence.

    • Knowledge of local community-based efforts around health care equality, socio-economic factors and public health core concepts a premium attribute.

    • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

    Pay Range

    Pay Range: $68,765 - $103,147 Annually

    The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
