    The Opportunity

    This Sr. Electrical Engineer position works out of our Sunnyvale , CA location.

    Sr. Electrical Engineer works without appreciable supervision and designs hardware and software to support features, including new product definition and development. Design test methodologies for characterization and verification testing. Works require the application of theoretical principles and creative/analytical techniques typically acquired in a recognized four-year or more academic course of study. Sr. Electrical Engineer applies advanced engineering and scientific principles to the evaluation, simulation modeling, and solution of technical problems. Initiates the planning, organization, performing, coordinating, and/or directing of engineering work and may conduct performance evaluations. In addition, they remain abreast of and consult on technical advancements, identify and routinely use the most effective, cost-efficient, and best practices to execute processes, and continually evaluate their effectiveness and appropriateness.

    Job Duties:

    • Design hardware (Analog/Digital design) and software as part of new Product definition and throughout development.

    • Ability to formally present and lead on various technical discussions and topics.

    • Utilize simulation and modeling techniques to support design and development.

    • Lay out and construct a variety of prototype tools and fixtures required for development purposes.

    • Conduct evaluations, test and analyse related to feasibility and function.

    • Perform troubleshooting and fault isolation activities on a variety of breadboards and hybrids.

    • Conduct measurements specified in characterization plans, design verification plans, documents and tabulates results, and provides engineering test reports.

    • Document custom tools with specifications, schematics and mechanical layouts to support document control and tool release.

    • Support all Company initiatives as identified by management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements.

    • Comply with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments. Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.

    • Perform other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned.

    • Equipment: May, on occasion, work with a variety of production equipment, small hand tools, test equipment, and precision measuring instruments. Also uses standard office equipment such as telephone, fax/copier, and a personal computer with standard office software.

    • Working Conditions: Work environment varies from well lighted office/cubicle, low to moderate noise level, to a variety of conditions caused by travel requirements such as customer offices, research labs, hospitals, hotels, use of automobiles, commercial travel, weather, etc.

    • Physical Demands: Activities require a significant amount of sitting in front of a computer monitor, some standing and walking. Significant use of hands and arms, plus finger dexterity to reach, point, write, type, operate a computer and other office equipment. Performs tasks that regularly require good correctable vision and hand/eye coordination. Activities also require significant use of voice and hearing for discussions with other employees.

    Required Qualifications :

    • Bachelors Degree in Electrical/electronic engineering or related engineering field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience

    • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in performing the layout, construction, and evaluation of a variety of prototype Printed Circuit Boards, fixtures and tools.

    • Extensive Analog/Digital design experience.

    • Demonstrated ability to develop new design features as part of existing systems.

    • Documented record of delivering tool engineering information which adds value to management's decision making process.

    • Demonstrated ability to understand and comply with applicable FDA regulations and Company operating procedures, processes, policies and tasks.

    • Advanced personal computer skills, including spreadsheet, word processing, database management, and specialized applications.

    • Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred.

    • Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.

    • Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.

    • Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.

    • Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.

    • Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.

    • Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.

    • Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Six-Sigma knowledge and experience.

    • Advanced credential or professional certification in a relevant discipline/concentration.

    • Training and experience in manufacturing processes and methods, especially in the manufacturing of medical devices.

    The base pay for this position is $83,600.00 - $167,200.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
