Ok to have an expertise but given the nature of the position needs to be able to speak about a number of broad areas and know where to lean in for others to support within the org.

    Position Title: Principal Solutions Architect - Service Architecture

    Position Summary:

    The role will report to Director, Service Architecture. The hired person would be a part of multi-skilled Solutions Architecture team. Such a person would be responsible for envisioning, rationalizing, and designing innovative, standardized, Risk managed, scalable capabilities that enable the organization to efficiently deliver evolving DTCC platform architecture solutions and incorporating them in various projects and initiatives. The Service Architecture team addresses key project and initiative aspects including cloud design, middleware solutions, platform and service strategies, data handling and security solutions, standard blueprints, supporting technologies and tools - and how they fit together and are expected to evolve over time. The team develops comprehensive platform designs that incorporate strategic target state architecture and standards to maximize performance, capacity, and minimize total cost of ownership.

    Principal Responsibilities:

    • Translate complex and sometimes ambiguous business and technical requirements into sound technical solutions.

    • Provide technical leadership and be responsible for developing components of, or the overall systems and platforms design, and express those in technical diagrams.

    • Partner with application owners, SME and product owners, other Architects, engineers and delivery professionals to improve the DTCC Technology Governance, Risk and Compliance solution delivery and standardization as well as influence and shape the strategic direction and target state platform architecture. Clearly capture the agreed upon results in technical designs.

    • Provide guidance on technical strategy, design the overall technology architecture, mentor and coach the technical team as you implement capabilities to solve complex business problems, design innovative services to improve customer experience and speed of delivery.

    • Support ARB entry as a primary vehicle for introducing new technologies and identifying risk and impact of these into DTCC.

    • Develop and follow comprehensive DR strategies and solutions to meet internal or regulatory requirements.

    • Keep up to date with emerging technologies and recommend directions and approaches based on the technology trends, business requirements and strategic vision.

    • Educate the application developers, engineering teams, delivery, and support teams on standards, processes, approaches, and tools.

    • Demonstrate sound judgement while assessing and mitigating risks to safeguard the firm's and its clients' reputation and assets in decision making following Risk management and Risk mitigations approaches.

    • Support compliance to applicable laws, rules, regulations, adhering to Standards and Policies.

    Experience:

    • Extensive work experience as a Solution Engineer or Architect, or an Enterprise Architect.

    • Years of experience in post-trade processing of global financial transactions is a significant plus

    • Specialized knowledge of DTCC applications and/or financial industry post trade solutions is a significant differentiator among candidates. Candidates who lack such knowledge will be expected to rapidly develop financial industry post trade domain knowledge. Position requires highly advanced analytical skills and demonstrated leadership capability.

    Knowledge and Skills Required:

    • Ethical behavior. High level of personal and professional integrity, teamwork attitude and collaboration skills.

    • Hardcore security skills (seems like this is where the candidate will get plugged in)

    • Experience with Networking considerations for apps and platforms

    • Governance experience (security and data)

    • Someone who can talk about fundamentals, while also having high-level perspective of platforms and systems

    • Don't need to understand how an app works, but can understand what they do and how they slot into the overall arch

    • People person, he wants someone that can flex, ask a lot of questions, but listen more

    • Generalist who can dive into details (this is often either or in candidates)

    • Inclusive leadership acumen with ability to listen to, evaluate and effectively leverage diverse ideas, experiences, thoughts, and perspectives to the benefit of the organization

    • Effective communication. Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication and teamwork and customer service skills.

    • Ability to negotiate, influence, and collaborate to build successful relationships.

    • Strong leadership presence with an ability to translate and communicate sophisticated technical solutions in understandable terms to a broad range of audiences.

    • Ability to influence across all organizational levels, including partners and senior management.

    • Identify and manage anticipated resistance to upcoming technology changes.

    • Ability to research and acquire needed knowledge, continuously learn new technologies and skills on an on-going basis through self-initiative tackling complex projects and initiatives.

    • Superb problem-solving and analytical skills.

    • Experience with Governance, Risk, and Compliance concepts.

    • Well organized and structured. Competent in project management discipline (can manage to tight deadlines) and administration.

    • Knowledge of business concepts tools and processes that are needed for sound decisions making in the context of the company's business.

    • Ability to effectively function and stay objective under stress in dynamic environment that introduces changing priorities along with agile ways of working while keeping the strategic goals as a guardrail.

    • Must be proactive, able to demonstrate initiative and take a lead to devise elegant, quality, scalable cost-effective solutions, and processes with ability to visualize and express those in technical diagrams.

    • Ability to combine the broad picture vision with attention to the details.

    • Broad expertise in Information Technology and Architectural fundamentals, understanding how to effectively run technology as a business.

    • Deep knowledge is several technology concentration areas.

    • Possess strong business insight.
