  • Process Domestic and International shipments using various shipping software and systems such as UPS World Wide Ship software, FedEx online, and DHL. Prepares proper paperwork and documentation for International shipments. The successful candidate must have exceptional organizational skills, accuracy, and speed.

    Essential Job Duties

    • Coordinates ground, air, and sea freight shipments daily

    • Generate shipping documents including Customs required documents, airfreight declarations, and BOL's

    • Determines best method / most cost effective of shipments, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes and rates

    • Trouble shoots shipping issues and customer complaints that arise and work to resolve them including filing claims with carriers, rerouting shipments and redirecting shipments enroute

    • Picks, packs, and processes outgoing shipments in a proficient, safe and efficient manner

    • Receives, inspects and processes incoming shipments

    • Receive shipments / packages, inspect contents and sign paperwork upon receipt

    • Must be able to lift 50 pounds and work on feet for length of time

    • Performs quality checks and inspection of items produced

    • Data entry, processing and reporting with inventory management system.

    • Cycle counts and inspects inventory. Verify discrepancies on Cycle counts. Maintains accurate inventory levels of product and packaging material

    • Organizes and priorities workload, working within tight deadlines

    • Thinks creatively and suggests process improvements to management

    • Material handling of parts and containers including loading and unload trucks

    • Required to operate forklift, pallet jack, hand truck, as well as additional equipment as needed

    • May load and transport materials using company vehicle. May pickup and deliver parts / supplies from local vendors

    • Sort and place materials / parts on racks, shelves or in bins in the proper locations

    • Cross-check inventory accuracy with system entries

    • May use additional tools and equipment such as box cutters, nail guns, saws, and hand-held RF scanners

    • Maintain a clean and safe work area and updated supplies as needed

    • May direct others in preparing outgoing and receiving incoming shipments

    • Some overtime may be required based on work load and end of day carrier pick ups

    Work Environment

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to noise, dust, heat, cold, and moving mechanical parts. The temperature in the work environment is not regulated.

    Experience and Qualifications

    • Minimum of 2 yrs. experience in shipping/receiving

    • Experience with FedEx, UPS WordShip, DHL, Domestic, and International shipments

    • Experience with LTL freight carriers and the use of multi-carrier software (3PL systems)

    • Must understand International shipping and paperwork

    • Experience with Air and Sea Freight logistics and customs clearance

    • Good computer skills. Experience with Excel, Word and Access

    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

    • Exemplary Customer Service skills

    • High level of professionalism and organization

    • Knowledge and understanding of stockroom and warehouse functions

    • Basic math and recording abilities

    • Problem solving skills

    • Attention to detail is required

    • Quick learner, fast worker

    • Ability to multi-task and accept responsibility for daily team performance

    • Good attendance and performance work history

    • Motived self-starter with ability and aptitude to work without constant direct supervision

    • Must have proven leadership skills.

    • Valid Driver's license and good driving record required

    • Ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including steel toe shoes
