    General description of duties:

    The Shipment Research Validation Analyst inspects shipments, ensures the freight bill descriptions and applied NMF items are correct, and ensures that the correct published tariff rate/charge is applied on the customer freight bill. This position manages the Weighing and Research reweigh program, including the training of forklift operators and the maintaining of equipment to ensure a high rate of shipments reweighed.

    Job Duties

    • Inspect shipments and provide complete and accurate documentation for proper corrections to freight bills.

    • Check and maintain all W&R equipment.

    • Train and educate service center personnel concerning proper reweigh procedures.

    • Communicate with Sales department and customers concerning the correct commodity descriptions for Bills of Lading.

    • Promote the W&R reweigh program at the local distribution center and assigned end of line service centers, and take action to ensure reweigh frequencies are at or above goals set by W&R Management.

    • Maintain a positive attitude in a highly intense environment.

    • Work in a team setting to accomplish department goals.

    • Other duties and projects, as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Education: Bachelor's Degree, preferred.

    Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

    Other Requirements: Understanding of ABF tariff rules and applications, as well as ABF Pricing policies and procedures, preferred. Understanding of the NMFC Classifications and their rules and applications. Understanding of both Service Center and Linehaul operations. Understanding of scale operations (including wireless segment), and use of PDAs.
