    Job Summary

Our Airborne and Space Surveillance has an exciting opportunity for an EO/IR sensor payload Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis Senior Systems Engineer to be part of a growth-oriented organization.

In this role, you will lead with a culture of trust, transparency, compliance, diversity, inclusion, and accountability. You will work within a multi-discipline team (e.g., multi spectral image processing, mechanical design, electrical design) to design develop and debug multi spectral image processing algorithms and radiometric and other simulation models of differing fidelity which represent the elements of a system. This requires the ability to read, debug, edit and create computer programming code to enhance image processing algorithms, simulation models, creating and executing unit tests on the models to verify functionality, documenting the design and test results, and integrating with other models in a complex system simulation environment.

This is an On-Site role in El Segundo, California

    Responsibilities to Anticipate

    • Develop, execute, and analyze simulations in a high-performance computing environment, which can include the use of Graphics Processing Units (GPUs), to support electrooptical infrared (EO/IR) system design/trade studies, performance assessment, algorithm enhancements, algorithm validation and integrated system tests.

    • Work within a team to develop analysis of the data for the specific task as well as provide insight and understanding of the system performance, recognizing, and troubleshooting any anomalies observed in the simulation results.

    • Ensure the solutions provided meet their defined requirements and function as needed through rigorous verification and validation. This activity utilizes data from several sources up to and including system level testing.

    • Communication (written, verbal, and presentation) and the ability to effectively communicate with all Stakeholders.

    Basic Qualifications

    • Typically requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, Mathematics, or related STEM degree and five (5) years or more of documented work and/or academic experience in one of the following areas:

    • Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis

    • Electrooptical infrared (EO/IR) system design/trade studies

    • Performance assessment, algorithm enhancements, algorithm validation and integrated system tests

    • Digital signal / image processing

    • MATLAB to develop data analysis scripts and tools

    • An active and current DoD US Security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Advanced degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related STEM degree

    • Optical performance analysis (e.g., analysis of radiometric and Line-of-Site (LOS)) data collected during System level testing, like Optical Alignment and Thermal Vacuum (TVAC) testing

    • EO/IR sensor system calibration, model validation, and data trending

    • Mission operations and CONOPS for space systems

    • Integration and Test of Space Hardware

    • Programming in C, C++, Java, or Python

    • Object-oriented programming with proficiency in Windows and Linux

    • Adaptive signal and image processing and optimization

    • Radiometry, EM wave propagation phenomenology and modeling
