Senior Financial Analyst

Sue sumrell is recruiting for a Senior Financial Analyst in the Portland, Oregon area for one of Robert Half's clients. The ideal candidate will have prior knowledge of annual planning, quarterly forecasts and monthly outlooks, which will be imperative to the coordination of various planning cycles. In this role, you will also provide strategic analyses and recommendations. You will deliver variance analysis of bookings, revenues and expenses, clearly explaining the business reasons for variances and adjusting the outlook models to reflect operational adjustments. This Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for driving world class strategic and financial planning methods, building long-range operating plans to support business initiatives and developing rolling forecast processes to ensure resources are leveraged with maximum effectiveness. You will operationalize and cultivate data-driven planning processes and improve upon monthly and quarterly reporting. What you get to do every day

• Amass and examine forecasting reports

• Collaborate with senior executives on strategic deep dives by developing financial models and insights on topics such as: Retention forecasts, Campaign Planning & Tracking, return on investment of strategic investments, event tracking and execution, strategic resource allocation and prioritization

• Utilize effective Business Intelligence (BI) to provide forward-looking insight and decision support

• Overview performance to date and assess potential risks and opportunities

• Explain monthly reporting to business partners on financial results and actions required

• Master and explain internal and external drivers impacting performance and trending

• Manage weekly, quarterly and annual Area/Segment-level Bookings and P& L forecasting

• You will be closely engaged with cross functional partners in Accounting and Operations to execute against plans

• Monitor monthly and quarterly performance through comparison of actuals versus expectations and enable business partners to handle their resources

• Work with Accounting on the monthly and quarterly financial close process

Requirements

• Expert proficiency with financial reporting tools

  • Talent for simplifying complex problems and building solutions

• 3+ years' experience with advanced financial analysis, planning and budget controls required

• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel

• Strong familiarity with Complex Financial Analysis

• Solid understanding of budget forecasting

• Foundational knowledge in financial analysis

  • Outstanding presentation skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, MBA preferred
