    Job Summary:

The Pratt & Whitney Engineering organization is focused on delivering customer requirements, advancing market-differentiating technologies, leading continuous improvement, and developing technical leadership. The Mechanical Systems, Externals and Nacelles (MSEN) Engineering Module Center is responsible for design, validation, manufacture, and delivery of most of the engine hardware. This includes external plumbing, components, and ducts, Lubrication and Thermal Management Systems, the rotor support hardware including bearings, seals, oil tanks and pumps and complex castings. We're seeking a goal oriented, detail-focused Senior Design Engineer to join the MSEN design team.

This position requires creative design skills in engine hardware arrangement and packaging to achieve maintainable, low-cost systems while meeting structural and functional requirements. Working on inter-disciplinary teams, the selected candidate will perform mechanical design of gas turbine engine fuel, hydraulic, bearings & seals, lubrication, air management plumbing and electrical and harness systems hardware. The person in this position will be expected to work onsite often to support Advanced Military programs. In this position you will be in a fast-paced environment, working with experienced design engineers on conceptual, preliminary and detail design activities related to engine architectures.

You'll learn about what is required in the overall design process of parts for engines including new and existing designs. Working on inter-disciplinary teams, the selected candidate will perform mechanical design of gas turbine engine hardware supporting the high and low rotors, including bearings, seals, castings, housings, supports, scoops, nozzles, & tanks; as well as hardware associated with fuel, hydraulic, lubrication, air plumbing and electrical and harness systems hardware. All design work will utilize Teamcenter-NX solid modeling as well as other modeling and analysis tools. Our team collaborates with virtually every module on a PW gas turbine engine as well as integration of different systems on the engine including lubrication, electrical, fuel and air systems.
