    Within our Analytical Services team, we have a functional service provider solution, which is a unique partnership that allows our customers to use the experience of our staff, while allowing you, the employee, to gain direct experience working onsite at a pharmaceutical/ biopharmaceutical company, all while maintaining full-time benefits.

    Key responsibilities:

    • The Lab Automation Engineer for this position must be adept with liquid handling robotics (Hamilton) that is heavily integrated with supporting instrumentation to complete an array of molecular, cellular, and biochemical experiments.

    • Apply engineering principals to develop processes on complex lab automation platforms with all considerations from end-to-end. Must consider ease-of-use for users, robust execution on scientific intent, and secure data handling and management post-execution.

    • Develop automated workflow for one or more assays (NGS, ELISA, PCR, cell-based potency assay, cell passaging, sample normalization and dilution and other). Lead efforts by programming automated system based on team members' needs, complete dry and wet runs to ensure robust process, train users on how to use platform and run automated workflow, and finally work with team members to optimize workflow for data integrity, ease-of-use, and other process improvements as needed.

    • Perform advanced experimental troubleshooting alongside scientists to generate desired scientific outcome with high integrity.

    • Effectively collaborate and work closely with partners to facilitate the success of projects.

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in lab sciences such as Chemistry, Biochemistry, Material Science, Immunology, Biology, Molecular Biology or similar

    • Scientist: Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 2+ years')

    • OR Masters degree

    • Sr. Scientist: Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 4+ years')

    • OR Masters degree and previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 2+ years')

    • OR PhD

    In some cases, an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Advanced expertise in programming Hamilton liquid handling robotics using VENUS for Hamilton Star and Vantage.

    • Demonstrated ability to understand all scientific considerations required via collaboration with scientists to effectively deploy applications (automated workflows and experiments).

    • Excellent communication skills with validated ability to build open and collaborative relationships and work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.

    • Demonstrated project management skills by working on multiple projects in parallel and deploying deliverables with team members' timelines in mind.

    • Relevant experience in one or several of the following areas is a strong plus: Analytical Assay development, scheduling software (Cellario and other), TECAN Fluent and other robotic liquid handlers.

    • Understanding and experience with stem cell biology and placing automated assay in QC lab for testing will be plus.
