Currently seeking for a Full-time Sample Maker to operate various industrial sewing machine to make handbag and leather goods prototypes and samples. Sample Maker will collaborate cross-functionally with Pattern Makers and Floor Assistants to complete projects, with opportunities to acquire additional skills such as leather skiving, splitting, and operating other specialized machines.

salary: $20 - $22 per hour

shift: First

work hours: 7 AM - 3:30 PM

education: No Degree Required

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain sewing machines and related parts, i.e. needles, presser feet, automatic cutting tools and blades.

• Assembling and sewing of handbags and leather goods.

• Prep-work including, but not limited to: cutting, gluing and skiving.

• Maintain clean and orderly workspace throughout and at the end of each day.

• Troubleshoot basic machinery problems and request service or repairs as needed.

• Work closely with Pattern/Sample makers and Floor Manager to complete projects.

The essential functions of this role include

• working in a smoke free environment

• standing for 8 hours at one time

Skills

• High attention to detail (1 year of experience is required)

• Ability to multi-task (1 year of experience is required)

• Read/Interpret specifications (1 year of experience is required)
