Description
We are offering a role located in Baltimore, Maryland, United States. The position is a Purchasing Assistant, requiring an individual with a keen eye for detail and excellent organizational skills. The role involves assisting with purchasing and procurement activities and requires proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. This is a contract employment opportunity.
Assist with purchasing goods and services, ensuring efficiency in procurement activities
Actively participate in the drafting of letters and other written communications
Track and manage key information using Microsoft Excel
Maintain an organized filing system for easy access to documents and information
Call for pricing information as part of purchasing and procurement functions
Utilize excellent communication skills to liaise with relevant parties
Assist in the purchasing department, contributing to procurement actions and activities
Handle purchasing materials and execute purchasing functions as required
Act as a buyer when necessary, ensuring all procurement activities align with the organization's needs and budgets.
Requirements
Minimum of 2 years of experience in purchasing
Proficiency in managing purchasing activities and functions, including procurement of materials
Experience in executing procurement actions and activities
Ability to draft official letters and maintain filing systems
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data management and analysis
Experience in pricing strategies and negotiations
Previous role as a buyer or similar procurement role preferred
Strong understanding of procurement policies and procedures
Experience in a purchasing department, handling purchasing procurement tasks
Strong communication and negotiation skills
Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in tasks
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
