    Summary

    The Project Controls Manager is responsible for ensuring all large projects in Florida are managed cost-effectively and efficiently. The ideal candidate is a reliable, trustworthy individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment where both collaboration and autonomy are valued.

    Physical Demands & Work Environment :

    • Required to drive, stand, walk, use hands to type, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance, talk, and hear. Body motions and movements include: bending, twisting, reaching, stooping, pulling, kneeling, lifting, carrying, and pushing. Standing or sitting for extended periods of time may be required.

    • Ability to drive within the State of Florida, sometimes for extended periods of time.

    • Lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds is expected occasionally

    • This job may be exposed to outside weather conditions and construction sites where the noise level may be more than moderate for extended periods of time. The typical noise level of this job is moderate.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Manages, oversees, and coordinates project controls and activities, planning and scheduling, cost estimating and monitoring, and quality review for projects for an organization.

    • Monitors productivity and utilization rates, prepares reports and analytics on direct vs. indirect labor charges on projects to ensure all hours are being billed for appropriately

    • Evaluates project risk and advises on risk-mitigation recommendations, including but not limited to, financial risk, personnel risk, contract risk, etc.

    • Defines project controls objectives, including performance, cost, and schedule objectives.

    • Develops, tracks, and maintains project schedule(s), and schedules performance on active projects.

    • Consults with, assists, and advises Engineering, Project, and Sales Department management on matters involving costs or cost estimates on proposed sales, new developments, or active projects.

    • Develops project accounting structure and ensures project personnel correctly assign costs to allocated structure, analyzes project budgets

    • Measures results against the plan (cost, schedule, and performance), communicates results to project stakeholders and leadership, provides recommendations

    • Attends internal company project progress meetings; and identifies, develops, and provides detailed internal and external reports on progress made.

    • Ensures that a project is completed on time and within budget.

    • Creates, implements, and utilizes standard methods for project estimating, Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), contract management, reporting, and other project related processes

    • Ensures controls address cost and/or budget considerations, scope changes, change orders, etc.

    • Manages and oversees job close-out documentation and procedures (closeout documents, final job report, and final accounting).

    • Provide weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports surrounding projects

    • Supervise administrative personnel that provide project support at the branch office level

    • Travel within the State of Florida to any offices that need additional, hands on support

    • Other duties may be assigned

    Required Qualifications:

    • Valid Florida Driver's License with an acceptable driving record (in accordance with our Driver's License and Motor Vehicle Record Check Criteria)

    • Ability to pass a background check screening in accordance with Florida's Jessica Lunsford Act (or equivalent state classification).

    • At least ten (10) years' experience in the A/E/C industry

    • Ability to travel within the State of Florida

    • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or clients.

    • Computer skills sufficient to operate a laptop and cell phone, including sending and receiving emails, prepare and present PowerPoint Presentations, and learn Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint, SAP Concur, and various building department software(s). Incredibly strong Microsoft Excel Skills are required (V-Lookups, Pivot Tables)

    • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.

    • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Four (4) year degree from a US-accredited college or university, ideally majoring in Civil Engineering, Accounting, or similar, field

    • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification

    • Master's degree in Civil, Geotechnical, Environmental, Structural Engineering, Accounting, Construction Management or similar
