  • Overview

    Kimley-Horn currently has an exciting opportunity for a Project Controls Lead with experience managing Transit projects to join our Twin Cities team.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop, oversee, monitor, and support the work of staff and subconsultants, particularly in project controls over the following areas:

    • Cost estimating, budget development, and monthly cash flow projections

    • Project schedule development and management

    • Monitoring and reporting on budgets and schedules

    • Managing document control systems

    • Developing grant applications for Federal, State, & Local funding sources

    • Assisting clients with administering grants and completing grant specific reports

    • Developing and implementing management plans and procedures in accordance with FTA requirements and guidance

    • Analyzing and prioritizing projects for funding

    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration, Business, Engineering, Planning, Construction Management or a related program

    • 5 years of relevant industry experience

    • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to write clear reports and communicate findings

    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

    • Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines

    • High attention to detail

    • Critical thinking and analytical skills

    • Detail-oriented team player with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment

    • Ability to work independently and as a team

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience in the rail and/or transit industry,

    • Experience with FTA Capital Investment Grant (CIG) projects and/or other federal agencies (eg: FHWA)

    • Experience with project scheduling software (such as Primavera P6)

    • Experience in grant writing, administration, and management
