Principal Architect, Data Platform

Principal Architect, Data Platform holds the most senior non-managing architect position within the IT department, playing a pivotal role in shaping the data landscape of the organization. This strategic position is responsible for leading the design and implementation of a robust and scalable data platform that enables the development of data solutions/data products.

The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of technical proficiency, leadership skills, and a visionary approach to data platform evolution/transformation. This role will be part of the Architecture & Innovation team and report to the Director of Architecture, Integration, and Data

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Data Product/Platform Architecture Strategy and Vision:

• Establish and execute a holistic data architecture strategy in line with business goals.

• Lead the assessment of emerging data trends and technologies, driving continuous innovation to keep the organization ahead in the evolving data landscape.

• Mentor and guide data architects and engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement in data management practices. Architecture Design and Development:

• Define and enforce industry-aligned data architecture standards and best practices.

• Spearhead the design and execution of intricate data projects in line with organizational objectives and architectural guidelines.

• Offer technical direction to optimize scalability, flexibility, and cost-efficiency of data solutions, facilitating informed decision-making and widespread data utilization. Collaboration and Integration:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data architecture into all aspects of the organization's operations, fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making and innovation.

• Support the development and execution of data integration strategies, ensuring seamless data flow across systems and platforms.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum : 4-year degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related technical field. An advanced degree is preferred.

• Proven experience in a senior data architect role, with a demonstrated track record of delivering highly scalable, flexible, and cost-effective enterprise data solutions.

• Deep understanding of consumer and financial domains.

• Expert knowledge of data and integration technologies, architectural patterns, and governance.

• Deep understanding of operational aspects of data management, including performance and observability.

• Knowledge and practical experience applying AI models to solve business problems is a plus.

• Practical experience implementing MDM and CDP platforms/solutions.

• Strong experience architecting/implementing/deploying data and analytics products and platforms in cloud environments, preferably Azure.

• Data architecture and modeling experience.

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to drive change and influence at all levels of the organization.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

• Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving capabilities and attention to detail.

• Hands-on experience in Data Architecture and Engineering, with expertise in modern integration and data practices and patterns such as Domain Driven Design, Event-Driven Architecture, Data Streaming/Analytics, etc.

This position sits within our Atlanta Support Center with an expectation to be onsite 80% of the time
