    Kadiak, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company , is seeking a Physician to support Kadiak and our government customer in Arlington, VA.

    Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:

    • Support and medical supervision of nursing staff and athletic trainer

    • Performance of DEA and State Department physical evaluations, to include:

    • Laboratory specimen values interpretation

    • Electrocardiogram (ECG) interpretation

    • Pulmonary function test interpretation

    • Audiometry interpretation

    • Performance of physical examination

    • Completion of records

    • Diagnosis and treatment of acute illnesses and injuries of DEA students and staff, to include:

    • Triage decisions related to transfer of patients to urgent care/Emergency Department

    • Physical examination

    • Administration of intravenous fluids

    • Administration of medications in clinic

    • Prescription of medications

    • Incision and drainage

    • Wound care

    • Suturing

    • Superficial foreign body removal

    • Examination of cornea under magnification and fluorescein dye application.

    • Application of splints, bandages, wraps.

    • Evacuation of subungual hematomas

    • Communication of physical restrictions with DEA TR staff.

    • Follow-up of acute illnesses or injuries

    • Coordination of referrals to outside care providers or Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

    • Consultation with DEA employees regarding health issues or concerns.

    • Emergency response for any emergency within DEA TR buildings or on campus.

    • Travel medicine consultation for DEA employees with malaria prophylaxis treatment

    • On-site medical support of high-risk training activities (carotid restraint, oleoresin capsicum (OC) spray, Basic Agent Trainee (BAT) training activities, clandestine laboratory simulated "cooks").

    • Consultation with DEA TR staff regarding student special requests, infectious disease control, safety issues, medical recycles.

    • Coordination of medical recycling recommendations and documentation for any DEA TR student.

    • Review of medical charts for all BAT students and selected students from other training programs.

    • Participate as an advisor to the DEA TR Medical Review Board.

    • Presentations on general health to DEA TR students.

    • Annual presentation on first aid and tuberculosis to DEA Safety Officers.

    • The contractor shall be responsible for expenses of license maintenance (biennial CEUs).

    Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    • Provide evidence of current licensure and specialty certification as appropriate with proposal for review.

    • Have and maintain a current and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the jurisdiction of delivery of care.

    • Be Board-Certified in cardiology, emergency medicine, internal medicine, family medicine, or preventive medicine (aerospace, occupational, or general preventive medicine and public health) to qualify for performance of physical examinations under this section. Preferred specialty areas are Occupational Medicine, Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Emergency Medicine.

    • Have and maintain certification in Basic Life Support for Health Care Provider (BLSHCP) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) provider.

    • Have and maintain a valid state driver's license.

    Working Environment & Conditions

    This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

    This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress.

    The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
