    M Health Fairview has an immediate opening for a Medical Assistant to join our team at the Edina Urgent Care. This position is approved for 64 hours every two weeks, is benefit eligible, and we are offering a $4000 sign on bonus. (~~~) This position will require that you are available to work every other weekend. Pay for this role starts at $22.60 and increases based on experience.

    The Edina-Urgent Care is located on our Southdale Campus and sees all patients as those that visit do not need to be a regular Fairview patient to visit the Urgent care. The MAs get familiar with the providers they partner with as the providers rotate through this site. Located close to phenomenal restaurants, walking trails and parks, and with easy access to major highways, Edina is a top choice for both our Patients and Staff.

    Our new building is crafted with staff wellbeing being a top priority; work stations have windows, access to a wellness room, paint colors were chosen by current staff, and we have Mississippi River Views! We have 13 providers working at this location specializing in primary care and internal medicine.

    Responsibilities Job Description

    As a member of the patient care team, Medical Assistants supports quality patient- and family-centered care principles through performing a variety of high standard functions within a care team to support the needs of the healthcare team and patients. The Medical Assistant will collect information and detail the patient's visit. MA's are responsible for adhering to policies, procedures and practice guidelines; promoting communication with all members of the team, maintaining complete, timely and accurate clinical documentation for each patient and continually looking for opportunities to improve processes and workflow.

    Medical Assistants deliver care as delegated by the patients Physicians, or RN. They are able to prioritize work based on need, available resources, patient preferences, provider schedule, and work in collaboration with the physician/authorized practitioner as well as other health care team members. You may also perform high, and low risk, technical procedures during your daily work which could include: medication administration, assistance with CPR, assistance with procedures which may include lab draws

    Qualifications

    Required

    • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program or LPN

    • Basic Life Support Certification

    Preferred

    • Ambulatory Care Experience

    • AAMA Certification

    • Ability to prioritize and work with a fluctuation in workload while working independently

    • Ability to adapt to change and engage in ongoing process improvement
