  • Eaton's IS AER FMC division is currently seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor. THis position is based at our Los Angeles, CA facility.?

    With 250 employees, the Los Angeles facility designs and manufactures quality valves, regulators, and other fluid controls used mostly by the Aerospace Industry.

    The expected annual salary range for this role is $105225.03 - $154330.04 a year.

    The Manufacturing Supervisor will be responsible for all aspects of the site machining and fabrication (4-axis/5 axis CNC plus manual machining, CNC & manual grinders, deburr, and honing/lapping) executing the department's strategy and building organizational capability to achieve Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Culture objectives.

    The driving focus will be the successful achievement of department objectives through effective deployment of the Eaton Business System (EBS) and continuous improvement of key processes. The fabrication department is a key internal supplier to the extended assembly operations at the Los Angeles site.

    What you'll do:

    • Develop strategic plans in coordination with the site Operations Manager to identify and address current and future challenges for department and plant.

    • Anticipate, plan, and execute the daily manufacturing schedules and develop capacity plans to meet OEM, Interplant, and Aftermarket demand by interacting with SIOP processes.

    • Ensure organizational capability through effective development of training and cross-training of machinists.

    • Ensure consistent execution of Manufacturing processes through operator adherence to standardized work, Hour by Hour daily accountability, and 5S+ Reinforce process focus and execution through effective deployment of Continuous Improvement Tools such as visual controls, process checks, daily accountability; GEMBA Walks and A3 problem-solving.

    • Ensure support functions achieve their process capability & continual improvement through measuring and monitoring performance and root cause problem solving to drive overall Operational improvements.

    • Support continuous improvement through effective deployment of assessment and continuous improvement tools such as Value Stream Mapping, EHS Risk Assessments, Workstation Risk Assessment, PFMEAs and other EBS (Eaton Business System) tools.

    • Establish processes to involve employees in decision making and continuous improvement and establish trust and credibility through follow up and effective communication forums (e.g., daily startup meetings (Tier Meetings), monthly department meetings)

    • Set goals and manage performance through the APEX for Manufacturing process and ensure alignment of goals from EBS Pull & plant High 5 from Staff to shop floor to drive organizational performance and continual learning and development.

    • Support the various Community & Employee Engagement and Inclusion programs (i.e. - Community Outreach, Diversity & Inclusion, Green Team, Health & Wellness).

    • Coordinate the execution of New Product Development throughout the operations in cooperation with Engineering and Quality functions.

    • You will resolve employee issues and conflicts in accordance with Eaton's Values and Philosophies.

    Qualifications:

    Required (Basic) Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.

    • In lieu of a bachelor's degree, we will also consider a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) from an accredited institution, with a minimum 10+ years of experience as a CNC machinist, plus 5+ years of direct leadership and supervision in a complex machine shop environment.

    • Minimum two (2) years year of leadership experience managing people or project teams.

    • Minimum two (2) years of manufacturing experience in a close tolerance fabrication/machine shop environment.

    • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

    • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).     Preferred Qualifications:

    • Three (3+) or more years of leadership experience in a CNC metal fabrication environment

    • Working knowledge and experience with basic manufacturing tools such as Lean, Six-Sigma, problem solving/decision making, labor balancing and quality management systems (TS, ISO).

    Skills:

    • Strong interpersonal skills used for the review, motivation, and development of direct reports in addition to building relationships with internal and external customers and support teams.

    • Demonstrated ability to leverage cross-functional resources to support manufacturing requirements.

    • Strong leadership skills for the ability to communicate and execute a guiding vision to direct reports, meeting all operations objectives per profit plan expectations.
