Manufacturing Engineer, SMT/PCBA

Summary:

The Reality Lab in Meta is building products that make it easier for people to connect with the ones they love most. We are a team of world-class experts developing and shipping products at the intersection of hardware, software, and content. In this role, you will be responsible for manufacturing design and development to solve complex problems that directly impact final product quality, cost and delivery of Meta AR/VR products. You will define and implement manufacturing process best practices to the design of our products. You will be a key member of the Technical Operations team and will partner closely with Hardware Engineering, Quality, Test Engineering and our Manufacturing partners providing early and on-going manufacturing involvement to ensure new products are manufacturable from concept to mass production and through the end of life.

Required Skills:

Manufacturing Engineer, SMT/PCBA Responsibilities:

1. Drive PCBA DFM review, co-work with cross-function team to evaluate and manage manufacturing risk in product earlier stage

2. Partner with EE, PD and Quality teams to identify and resolve PCBA manufacturing challenges by following best practices and principles

3. Qualify and scale PCBA manufacturing process, set-up high standard and robust manufacture process

4. Lead PCBA manufacturing process trouble shooting. Resolve top issue and improve yield of each NPI build

5. Plan, develop and implement technically complex procedures for PCBA manufacturing process of each NPI Build. (Including post assembly processes such as underfill, encapsulation, conformal/waterproof coating)

6. Develop advanced PCBA manufacturing technology and process. Implement new manufacturing technology or materials for high yield and cost effectiveness

7. Provides production support engineering with respect to technically complex SMT procedures, testing methods and failure analysis

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

1. BS or MS in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, materials science or equivalent

2. 4+ years of PCBA/PCB design and SMT manufacturing experience

3. Experience with new product introduction and manufacturing operations is required

4. Experience with engineering design, project management, and cost reduction

5. Experience with experimental design and execution (Statistical analysis and DOE)

6. Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams such as Engineering, program management, quality, and operations.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experienced in new process development using AI tool or advanced robotics

2. Altium, Allegro, Valor, NX and JMP experience

3. Experience with advanced PCB technologies, SiP module, and advanced manufacturing processes

Public Compensation:

$129,000/year to $200,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
