    What will you be doing in this role?

    The Lead Environmental Services Linen Tech provides guidance and direction on department workflows to staff on their assigned shift. Responsible for storing, tracking, issuing, distributing, and collecting uniforms and linen for beds, patients, and tables across the organization and support locations for patients and ancillary services. Responsible for training new staff, receiving and verifying clean linen received from laundry service provider, verifying linen room par levels are maintained, and communicating discrepancies to leadership.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Oversees and participates in collection, separation, tracking and recording, and distribution of appropriate supply of items of clean linen and uniforms throughout the medical center and to other service and ancillary facilities.

    • Examines laundered items to ensure cleanliness and serviceability before distribution.

    • Stores laundered items on shelves to pre-established adequate supply level and records items distributed

    • Tracks and assembles laundered items on cart or linen truck, records amounts of linens and uniforms to fill requisitions and transports carts to patient floors.

    • Conducts inventories to identify items for replacement, replenishment of adequate supply level.

    • Distributes clean linens and collect soiled linens throughout campus and support locations.

    • Supplies clean and collect soiled scrubs / coats from scrub dispensing unit, and program units.

    • Provides team members guidance and direction on department workflows and to staff on their assigned shift.

    • Responsible for training new staff on assigned linen distribution / collection routes to ensure optimal efficiency and safe working habits of staff.

    • Receives and verifies clean linen delivery from contracted laundry service and communicates any discrepancies to leadership and laundry service team in real-time.

    • Inventories the clean linen storage room and adjusts orders with contracted laundry service to maintain an adequate supply of clean linens, including, but not limited to, scrubs / garments, packs, mops, cleaning towels and deluxe linens for medical center needs.

    • Maintains the cleanliness of the clean linen storage room at all times.

    • Maintains an adequate supply of empty linen carts for soiled linen placement.

    • Provides immediate route, distribution or collection coverage based on leadership assignment, increased patient census, scheduled employee time off, during unscheduled absences or other circumstances as needed.

    • Communicates with customers in a positive and professional manner. Makes contact on a routine basis and works closely with Supervisor to improve customer service. Responds to requests in timely manner and takes incoming calls / requests from customers.

    • Provides employee performance observations and feedback to department leadership team in support of employee evaluations.

    Qualifications

    Work Experience:

    • Two (2) year of Linen or Housekeeping/EVS/Cleaning experience in a hospital, school or hotel setting preferred
