Laboratory Aliquoting Intern

Description

Preparing aliquots of human plasma samples for testing

Receiving, shipping, and keeping inventory of samples

Identifying discrepancies and special handling samples

Pipetting and centrifuging plasma samples

Running protocols on a Hamilton ML Star automated liquid handler

Working with dry ice and frozen samples

Interacting with LIMS

Ensuring highly reproducible, error-free operations and strict compliance with protocols

Troubleshooting in case of malfunction

Following all PPE requirements, safety regulations and proper disposal of bio-hazardous material

Following company policies and Standard Operating Procedures

Working with another individual as a team

This role operates in laboratory environment.

This role routinely uses laboratory equipment and requires the use of PPE.

Must be able to meet physical demands of the position, including:

Standing for long periods of time. Estimate 80% of time is spent standing and 20% spent sitting.

Have frequent need to perform the following physical activities: bend/stoop/squat and reach above shoulders, lift up to 20 lbs.

No travel is expected for this position.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

BA (or presently in college) in relevant field (chemistry, biochemistry, biology, medical) + minimum 1 year industrial or academic laboratory experience
