    Job Title: Journeyman Electrician (JPL)

    Job Summary: EMCOR Government Services, Inc. has an immediate need for a Journeyman Electrician in Pasadena, CA. The project is approximately 3 million SF with more than 200 buildings on campus. The Electrician must possess the necessary skills and knowledge for performing preventive maintenance, repairs, and operations of all electrical systems. Ensure quality workmanship and high work standards conforming at all times to the published electrical codes. Maintain the quality and quantity of his / her work up to acceptable Company standards and in accordance with established policies.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Maintains and supports EMCOR subcontractors in the performance of maintenance on all primary and secondary / electrical distribution systems up to 16,500 volts. Refer to TDD, section 10.F.

    • Service and troubleshoot generators, ATSs, UPSs batteries and transformers.

    • Troubleshoot and maintain control circuitry, variable frequency drives, and all other special electrical systems.

    • Wire outlets, relocate fixtures, lighting and power panels, and install raceways when applicable and required.

    • Use a variety of tools and equipment such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment including oscilloscopes, ammeters, and test lamps.

    • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as meggers, ohmmeters and voltmeters to ensure compatibility and safety of system.

    • Responsible for the completion of all PM and record keeping assigned to his / her areas of responsibility.

    • Make recommendations to his / her supervisor as necessary on the performance of all equipment.

    • Respond to electrical and equipment emergencies at any time.

    • Ensure that safe working conditions are being maintained in all areas under his / her control.

    • Performs maintenance on assigned utility cart.

    • Work with the MRO group to provide vendor quotes and information for ordering material.

    Qualifications:

    • Requires 5-year apprenticeship program and / or a California Journeyman's Certificate and / or Master Electrical License with five (5) or more years of progressive experience as an Electrician.

    • Medium voltage experience is required.

    • Must demonstrate current knowledge of maintenance practices and concepts.

    • Must have knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local safety codes and be able to read, interpret, and explain schematics and drawings.

    • Must have the ability to resolve complex issues that require analysis, evaluation, and interpretation.

    • Must have knowledge of computer operations and application pertinent to their field (CMMS, Microsoft applications and email).

    • Must be able to move / lift heavy objects, climb vertical ladders and work at various heights.

    • Strong interpersonal skills and good customer service skills.

    • Ability to read and write in the English Language.

    • Valid CA driver's license.

    • Must have the ability to multi-task, be organized, pay attention to detail, be dependable, and be a team player.

    • Flexibility to work alternate schedules as necessary.

    • Perform all other duties as assigned to meet customer critical missions.

    • Provide own basic hand tools.

    Compensation Range: $38.83 / hr.
