  • The Telephonic Triage LPN/LVN triages incoming and outgoing customer service programs, assessing the caller's needs and symptoms, providing appropriate clinical and administrative advice, and following appropriate clinical protocols to assist the caller's needs.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Applies professional skills and knowledge of established concepts, principles, and practice to provide telephonic nursing services including, but not limited to, health information, health education, healthcare assessment, and triage

    • Conducts thorough and sound nursing assessments of the callers' presenting symptoms

    • Develops, implements, and evaluates a plan of care for each caller's presenting symptoms

    • Applies nursing process to identify and prioritize healthcare triage interventions that are appropriate, accurate, effective, and reduce the risk of adverse outcomes

    • Follows policies and procedure to document call inquiries

    • Answers calls in a timely manner

    • Maintains confidentiality of callers and their personal issues

    • Interacts with callers and other staff in a polite and courteous manner

    • Performs other duties as assigned/necessary

    Minimum Requirements

    • Current Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse license for the state of practice

    • One year of prior professional nursing experience preferred

    • Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice

    • Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable

    • Current CPR if applicable

    • TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

    • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)

    • Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

    • Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site

    • Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements

    • Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required

    • Computer proficiency required

    • Must be at least 18 years of age
