The Heavy Equipment Operator / Mechanic is responsible for operating a variety of heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Heavy equipment may include wheel loaders, excavators; skid steers; and other heavy equipment. The Heavy Equipment Operator must also clean, inspect, and secure all equipment and perform minor preventative and other maintenance on his/her equipment. This position requires mechanical assistance with heavy equipment and other equipment.

Primary Responsibilities

? Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner according to all relevant local, state, and federal regulations and all company policies and procedures.

? Perform and document daily safety and maintenance checks.

? Perform minor preventative and other maintenance.

? Required to work alongside of mechanics as well as alone on equipment.

? Clean equipment as scheduled or necessary.

? Perform other reasonably related tasks as assigned by management.

This position requires the ability to work overtime and include weekends.

Basic Required Qualifications

? 5+ years of experience in soil moving, and soil processing operations

? Experience in using a wheel loader, dozer, excavator, skid steer loaders, and/or other heavy equipment

? High school diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications

? Mechanical ability is a must.

? Good work ethic, self-motivated

Physical and Mental Demands

? Willing and able to work outdoors in all climate conditions

? Ability to work in a busy, often distracting work environment.

? Ability to lift up to 30 pounds unassisted on an occasional basis.

? Ability to sit, stand and walk (with or without accommodations) for long periods of time.
