Fire Protection Engineer

Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Fire Protection Engineer to join one of the largest semiconductor manufacturing companies worldwide. The Fire Protection Engineer is responsible for supporting the Design and Construction of Fire Alarm (FAS) and Fire Protection systems (FPS) as well as our Hazardous Gas Monitoring (HGMS) and VESDA (Very Early Smoke Detection) systems and ensuring are always available and meet code. You will work with both internal and external teams to define, design, detail and construct, the various FAS/FPS/HGMS that protect our facilities and employees. This will include design, construction and testing to meet NFPA, AHJ and Insurance carrier expectations, in field QA to ensure the work completed by our employees and service providers meets expectations and coordination for future construction.

This day to day will be all onsite at the construction location, not in an office/desk environment. This is a long term permanent opportunity with benefits and annual 18% bonus.

Skills and Requirements

• Bachelors Degree in a field related to fire protection or equivalent engineering degree

• 3-10 years of experience with the Design and Construction of Fire Alarm (FAS) and Fire Protection systems (FPS), Hazardous Gas Monitoring (HGMS), and VESDA (Very Early Smoke Detection) systems

• 3-10 years of experience with fire systems in the Semiconductor or Industrial projects industry (manufacturing facilities/plants, chemical plants, oil/gas etc)

• Strong knowledge of National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and AHJ (authorities having jurisdiction) standards, and International Code Council (ICC) requirements

• Experience in the design and construction relating to all aspects of fire protection, including fire suppression systems, fire alarm and detection systems, fire-resistive construction, and life safety.

• Comfortable being onsite at large construction site. - PE null
