Enterprise Data Platform Administrator

QTS' Enterprise Data Platform Administrator is responsible for supporting the enterprise reporting platform and technologies that connect critical enterprise-wide applications. You will provide overall platform administration and operational support to the business intelligence and analytics software platforms. This role requires a broad range of skills and the ability to step into different roles depending on the size and scope of projects

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform Active Directory support, adding and deleting user accounts & groups, on the enterprise data applications such as Snowflake, Fivetran, and dbt.

• Assisting data engineers and data analysts in integrating data from various sources into Snowflake, ensuring data consistency and quality

• Monitor the health and performance of Snowflake databases, identifying bottlenecks, and optimizing queries and processes for improved efficiency and cost.

• Install, upgrade, and manage data applications

• Implement security measures to protect sensitive data stored in Snowflake, including user access controls, encryption, and data masking policies

• Ensure compliance with appropriate standards and change control procedures to maintain integrity of the overall system functionality and reliability

• Implement and oversee disaster recovery solutions for the enterprise data platform

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

• 3+ years of experience as a Snowflake administrator

• 7+ years of experience as a DBA or similar role supporting data & analytics platforms

• Experience providing customer support including software installation, hardware troubleshooting, and ticket management

• Experience working in an Agile software development environment

• Knowledge of Data Warehouses, sizing, ETL/ELT architecture and best practices

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years' experience managing and allocating compute and storage resources for Snowflake

• Certifications in Database Administration and/or Snowflake Administration

• Hands on experience working with dbt and Fivetran

• Dbt

• Fivetran

• This position may require occasional local travel QTS sites and/or conferences

• Ability to learn new technology and build repeatable solutions/processes.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
