    Position Purpose

    The Sr. Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying, developing and selling, integrated solutions that address the sustainability and resiliency goals of clients, using a programmatic and comprehensive mix of Veolia services. The primary role of this position is capturing new business by leading the pursuit of new opportunities and establishing strong relationships with key decision-makers.

    Primary Duties / Responsibilities

    • Identify potential customers, and develop relationships with key decision-makers throughout the client organization to assess opportunities

    • Act as primary focal point with the client

    • Create unique client offerings based upon uncovered needs

    • Direct the technical proposal development team in shaping the outline for client-facing documents

    • Lead negotiations with clients, including the development of deal structures, financing options, and creative solutions

    • Serve as a close liaison with other members in the Veolia team (operations, finance, legal, insurance, risk management, etc.)

    • Win business and achieve an annual quota of closed sales

    • Assess competitor threats and adjust offerings to outdistance all others

    Notes:

    • This is a hybrid position.

    • This position will have ~ 25% travel.

    • Base Salary Range - $130,000 to $175,000 + Commission

    Qualifications

    Education / Experience / Background

    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline

    • 3 - 5 years' experience in business development within the Energy, Efficiency, or Utilities markets

    • Proven experience working in a dynamic environment and collaborating with others

    • Knowledge of Energy Performance Contracting, Microgrids / Distributed Energy, Smart Buildings, or related consultative sales

    • Working knowledge of building infrastructure systems, especially HVAC and hydronic systems

    • Hands-on project development experience working directly with clients

    Qualifications

    • Superior listening skills

    • Outstanding qualifications skills

    • Demonstrated proficiency working with elected officials in the public sector

    • Knowledge of industry associations

    • Ability to adapt to changing deadlines and urgent client requests

    Knowledge / Skill / Abilities

    • Thorough working knowledge of financial aspects of business, creating financial models, and using database platforms

    • Ability to build rapport with clients and listen to their needs in order to create customized client solutions

    • Proficient in business development strategies, strong negotiation skills, and extremely driven to results

    • Team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills

    • Ability to organize and manage multiple deadlines

    • Adaptability to changes in the business climate

    Certifications / Licenses / Degrees

    • Must have a valid driver's license

    • P.E., CEM, LEED, and other Industry relevant certifications/trainings are a plus

    • An advanced degree is desired but not required
