Discovery Paralegal

Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Paralegal to support our law firm client onsite in Pasadena, California. This role involves providing essential support, including responding to and propounding discovery, assisting in trial preparation, and summarizing medical records and deposition transcripts. This is a contract employment opportunity in a fast-paced environment that requires a strong ability to manage time and tasks efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Paralegal certification from an ABA Accredited school.

• Respond to and propound discovery in line with legal requirements and procedures.

• Assist in trial preparation by organizing and reviewing evidence, documents, and other legal materials.

• Summarize medical and deposition data accurately for easy reference and use in legal proceedings.

• Ensure the ability to bill out time accurately and efficiently.

• Utilize legal software, such as Adobe Acrobat, Case Management Software, and LexisNexis, to manage and organize cases.

• Perform various management system tasks, including Microsoft Excel, Billing Functions, Briefing, Calendar Management, and Claim Administration.

• Handle complaints professionally and in line with legal and company guidelines.

• Be present on-site daily in Pasadena to coordinate tasks and communicate with the team.

Requirements

• Possess experience in a paralegal role within the legal industry

• Proficiency in using Adobe Acrobat for document management

• Familiarity with LexisNexis for legal research and case law studies

• Experience in preparing briefing notes and legal documents

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel for data management and reporting

• Able to manage calendars and schedule appointments for attorneys

• Competency in handling customer complaints and resolving disputes

• Familiarity with a management system for organizing and tracking work tasks.
