    What you will do

    This position is responsible to develop and lead the long-term strategic planning and daily operational execution of the Purchasing and Quality functions supporting all business activities within the Company. This position is also a member of the senior management leadership team of the Company with responsibility to assist in the development, implementation and attainment of the Company's strategic business objectives required to support profitability and functional contribution through continual growth of the business. This position must identify, secure, and manage all resources needed to support internal and external customer operational needs within the assigned areas of responsibility.

    Core Responsibilities

    Purchasing

    • Establish and lead the team responsible for all day-to-day material purchasing and supply chain management activities in support of all product build and production activities

    • Responsible for team competence development

    • Develop and maintain overall strategic sourcing plans for key component and subsystem suppliers

    • Lead all efforts related to supplier selection and qualification

    • Develop needed supplier diversity to achieve government contract requirements

    • Establish detailed partnership agreements with external part suppliers and bought service providers to support all strategic business plan efforts for product offerings and industrialization needs

    • Identify and secure resource support from internal Company global business areas to support all purchasing and supply chain management activities

    • Directly responsible to lead all efforts to secure best possible costs for all purchased materials necessary to support business financial objectives and profitability goals

    • Responsible for the development, implementation and execution of all government program-specific contract value financial offset requirements

    Quality

    • Process Quality

    -Establish and lead the cross-functional team (including external consultant experts) responsible for ISO 9001-2015 and ISO 14001-2015 compliance and ongoing certification for the Company

    • Supplier Quality Assurance

    -Establish and lead the team responsible for Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) of all purchased materials including supplier evaluations, PPAP and corrective actions

    • Product Quality

    -Establish and lead the team responsible for product quality assurance of all products to be delivered to the Company's end customers

    Purchasing and Quality Business Processes

    • Responsible for the overall process strategy governing the purchasing, supplier quality assurance and product quality functions within Mack Defense necessary to support end customer requirements while maximizing commonality with our internal global Company processes and procedures

    Senior Management Team member

    • Participate as a senior management member of the Company's senior leadership team

    • Participate in decisions affecting the overall direction of the business

    • Responsible to help create, monitor and deliver annual business objectives and key performance indicators (KPI's) intended to support the overall business strategy within area of responsibility

    • Represent Company interests in assigned areas of responsibility in all governance forums including local Business Review Meetings (BRM) and Company Board of Directors meetings (BOD)

    • Lead the development and management of the operational budgets necessary to support all activities within area of responsibility

    • Establish and manage priorities of all business activities based on the strategic and financial metrics as outlined in the Company's business plan and defined objectives

    Who are you?

    Minimum Education and Experience:

    • Minimum of a Bachelor of Arts (BA) or a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree is required.Concentration in Procurement/Supply Chain Management is preferred

    • Master's in Business Administration (MBA) is desired or equivalent experience in business financial management, budgeting, developing/making investment decisions and understanding of business operational metrics

    • Minimum of 15-20 years of experience in purchasing and supply chain management in the heavy-duty commercial vehicle, automotive, military ground vehicle or related industries

    • A minimum of 10 years in a purchasing and supply chain management role of increasing responsibility with at least 5 years in a senior-level management position

    • A minimum of 10 years' of demonstrated experience in the implementation and use of the typical corporate systems and processes used in supply chain management and quality assurance is desired
