    Overview of Position

    Directs strategy for corporate communications function. Ensures cohesion across internal and external communication channels creating customized and targeted content across medium.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develops short- and long-term communication strategy and objectives.

    • Develops, maintains, and curates media relationships for Transdev, inside and outside the industry. Builds key media and communications contacts in target markets.

    • Develops a systematic communication outreach strategy to increase Transdev brand recognition and positive messaging. Use feedback, data, and reporting to drive continuous improvement and guide iterations to strategy.

    • Oversees crisis communications function and responses for the company. Includes coordination with all necessary approvals with internal and client stakeholders. Responds to crises or challenging situations quickly and professionally.

    • Oversees consistency in external communications deliverables including, but not limited to press releases, website content, brochures/promotional pieces, thought leadership articles, video, newsletters, and corporate presentations, etc.

    • Interacts with product management, business development, and customers to develop and showcase Transdev through integrated communication plans.

    • Consults with business leadership to establish brand communication strategies and ensure communication, planning, and monitoring is effectively meeting the needs of customers.

    • Making sure all company materials have consistent and positive messaging and branding.

    • Oversees both internal and external communications activities.

    • Manages, coaches, and develops staff; works with employees to set goals in training and development, performance, and career planning.

    • Develops and manages budget, financial controls, and risk ensuring operations are executed efficiently and within established budgets.

    Education, Licensing, and Certifications:

    Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field required.

    Experience

    Field and years of experience required:10 or more years of experience in managing communications or media relations functions in a public transit environment required.

    Experience preferred

    Skills and Knowledge Required

    • Full understanding and expertise of the media relations function. Knowledge of the public transportation industry highly preferred.

    • Strategic thinking and ability to develop long and short terms communication plans

    • Ability to work in a complex and fast-paced work environment

    • Ability to manage multiple projects across the business

    • Excellent written and oral communications skills

    • Ability to manage marketing communications staff

    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook

    Skills and Knowledge Preferred

    Travel requirement outside of immediate area (as a percent) <20%

    Physical Requirements

    • Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.

    • 100% of work is accomplished indoors and in air conditioned or well ventilated facilities

    • Work is accomplished in an office or in a cubicle space equipped with a telephone and computer.

    • The employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.
