    Responsibilities:

    Reporting to the Vice President, Corporate Communications, the Director, Internal Communications is responsible for developing, managing, and implementing company-wide internal communications strategies to engage associates and connect them to the goals and mission of the company. This position requires strategic thinking, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work closely with executive leadership, lines of business, and corporate partners to ensure alignment between content and strategy. The director leads a team of internal communications managers.

    Internal Communications

    • Strategy Development: Design and execute comprehensive internal communications strategies that support the company's objectives, enhance corporate culture, and improve associate engagement.

    • Content Creation and Management: Oversee and inform the creation, distribution, and management of informative and engaging content across various channels, including intranet, newsletters, emails, podcasts, articles, and town hall meetings; guided by the internal communications calendar.

    • Leadership Communication: Assist senior leadership in crafting and disseminating clear and consistent messages that resonate with all associates.

    • Crisis Communications: Manage internal communication in crisis situations, ensuring timely and accurate dissemination of information to prevent misinformation and maintain organizational integrity.

    • Feedback Mechanisms: Implement effective communication and feedback tools to gauge employee sentiment and feedback, using insights to drive improvements in internal communications. Use metrics/results on the performance of stories, intranet pages, newsletter, etc. to inform and update the channel strategy.

    • Collaboration and Support: Work closely with HR, Creative and Brand Services, and other departments to ensure that internal communications effectively reflect and support external messaging and brand positioning.

    • Team Leadership and Development: Lead and expand the internal communications team, fostering a collaborative environment, guiding professional development, and ensuring high performance.

    • Performance Excellence: Institutes quality controls to ensure communications are accurate and go through the proper approvals.

    Education & Experience:

    • Bachelor's Degree in a related field is preferred.

    • 10 + years of communications experience in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment.

    • 5 - 10 years of staff management experience

    • Health care, specifically Medicaid or Medicare, experience preferred.

    • Establishes excellent working relationships across the organization, at all levels.

    • Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills, with a portfolio demonstrating expertise in crafting various forms of communication materials that engage and inform diverse audiences.

    • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful internal communication strategies in a complex organizational setting.

    • Ability to develop well-written, clear and compelling copy quickly; ability to work under tight deadlines.

    • Demonstrated aptitude for understanding complex issues and ability to translate and simplify them for key audiences.

    • Demonstrated ability to meticulously manage content development and editorial schedules to ensure timely and effective communication across all internal channels.

    • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.

    • Ability to be flexible with priorities and handle multiple, deadline-oriented projects simultaneously.

    • Solid understanding of broad industry issues; ability to grasp technical issues and market considerations.

    • Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to think outside the box.

    • Writing samples may be requested.

    NOTE: AmeriHealth Caritas utilizes a hybrid work environment with associates working from home two days a week and in the office three days a week. The functions of this position will be performed onsite at our offices located at 3875 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, 19073
