    Sargent & Lundy is one of the largest and most experienced power industry engineering and consulting firms. We have a unique and exciting opportunity to join our Consulting group in the role of a Design Engineer Consultant. This position will require you to execute work associated with the development, financing, and execution of power generation projects.

    This position is being added to support continued growth of the Sargent & Lundy Consulting group, which regularly provides technical and financial due diligence, asset transaction support, project development services, owner's engineering services, and long-term planning support. This position will require face-to-face interaction with both internal Sargent & Lundy project teams and external stakeholders including power project developers, utilities, investors, legal advisors, and financial institutions during the execution of consulting services work for the firm.

    Common responsibilities include:

    • Preparation of 2D conceptual drawings for conventional and renewable power generation projects including general arrangements and single line diagrams

    • Participation in site visits to power generation projects

    • Review of third-party engineering drawings as part of owner's engineering services

    • Preparation of independent engineer reports in support of project financing

    Qualifications

    We do not sponsor employees for work authorization in the U.S. for this position.

    This position requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in one of the engineering disciplines (electrical, mechanical, civil, etc.) with 1 - 3 years of relevant experience including:

    • Experience with AutoCAD, Microstation, and Microsoft Visio

    • Design engineer experience for development and execution of power generation

    • Experience and technical knowledge in multiple power generation technologies - solar, battery energy storage, wind, and thermal

    • Experience with design work for multiple disciplines (mechanical, electrical, civil) is a plus

    • Owner's engineer and/or independent engineer experience is a plus

    • Experience with conceptual design or feasibility studies for power projects is a plus
