Controls Engineer

Description

SCOPE

Candidate will be responsible for doing Controls projects that are at various phases. They will be working on projects from cradle to grave where they will program, troubleshoot, and debug within Allen Bradley or Siemens software. Candidate will also be doing motion control work which is a software component of the PLC's. The motion control software for Allen Bradley is called Kinetix and for Siemens it is Sinamics S120.

Candidate will be working with the hardware design team to get the concept and they will be doing the software design in one of the PLC platforms. They will receive standards from the customer which can range from auto customers to aerospace customers. Candidate will follow the project from software development to commission stage.

Primary work will be in the office and there will be some travel to customer sites

TRAVEL

20% will be for start-ups and candidates will be gone for 2 weeks max

HOURS

40-60 hours per week, it will depend on where the project stands.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

MUST HAVES

-Controls Engineering experience (candidate will be working in either Allen Bradley or Siemens PLC's doing programming, troubleshooting, and debugging

-Automation Manufacturing (Candidate must come from an automation background that is an integrator)

-Allen Bradley PLC or Siemens PLC experience (They will be working in one of these PLC platforms to do work)

-Motion Control experience (Candidate will be using Allen Bradley Kinetix or Siemens Sinamics S120 for motion control work)

-Communication (Candidate will be interfacing with the customer and internal engineering team)

NICE TO HAVES

-Hardware design experience
