  • JOB SUMMARY

    Under supervision of the Program Director, the Clinical Therapist will be responsible for providing most aspects of therapeutic clinical care for the eating disorders Medical Behavioral Unit. The LMHT will provide individual, group, family psychotherapy, and multi-family therapy to patients using evidence-based practice for eating disorders and patients admitted to the hospital. The LMHT will coordinate care with other providers, assist with discharge planning, and provide regular therapy sessions. The LMHT will attend required trainings and workshops, and report on patient progress in multidisciplinary rounds and group supervision and commit to continuing hours and further education in the field. Additionally, the LMHT will develop and implement treatment plans for complex cases with multiple diagnoses. Under supervision, the incumbent may also provide consultation and liaison services to other medical services in the hospital including the hospital medicine, gastroenterology, cardiology, nephrology, and endocrinology among others. The incumbent will maintain clinical records; participate in program evaluation; participate in treatment development; provide consultation to and maintain liaison with community programs; and provide teaching, supervision, consultation, and in-service training to interns, students, and staff as needed or requested by the program director.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    1 Year of Experience

    Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, or Social Work from an accredited school and possession of the requirements necessary for an application for licensure as a clinical social worker, professional clinical counselor, or marriage and family therapist as determined by the California Board of Behavioral Science Examiners

    Knowledge and demonstrated skill in provision of individual, group and family psychotherapy and in problem-focused psychotherapeutic interventions and a thorough working knowledge of DSM-V categories and differential diagnosis.

    Effective and appropriate interpersonal skills including listening and interpretive skills, in dealing with patients, families, caregivers, multidisciplinary team members and community professionals

    The location of work may include floating to a newly created residential or skilled nursing unit as needed

    Must be able to work various hours (flexible schedule) based on Clinical Program's need. This position includes working one weekend day and requires flexibility in scheduling to help cover unit needs

    Will be required to work four, 10 hour shifts and on a weekend day; also, work some holiday days

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    3 Years of Experience

    Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)

    Demonstrated experience in treatment of eating disorders

    Experience coordinating patient's care among all intra and inter-departmental providers

    The expected hiring range for this position is $43.57 to $59.91.
