  • Position Purpose:

    The Home Textile Design manager oversees all exclusive design developments for The Company Store. They oversee a team of 2-3 people but also participate in the design creation. The business opportunities are identified by the merchant team, the design manager helps translate the design vision along with creative concepts for the upcoming season into patterns and products and CADs that are passed on to the manufacturers. The position interacts with the product development team daily. Their experience and strengths are within the home area in capturing trend, color and surface design that is timely and speaks to our customer.

    • Create Designs: Original designs are created to fill gaps needed in quilts, printed sheeting, and all other product categories. All accessory products such as lounge wear/pajamas, hooded towels, woven Jacquard printed beach towel designs, coir mats are all developed by this position. All sub brands such as, CStudio, Company Kids, Loft, and TCS core are supported by this creative area.

    • Colorations Creations: On purchase designs, separation of screens are manipulated and cleaned allowing colorations to be created. Team reviews best color look for the assortment. Final choice is sent to the supplier for execution on strike off and product make up.

    • Sample Designs: On all product, creative specs accompany the CAD designs to the designated supplier to be initially sampled for the first protype to be reviewed by PD for approval and sign off for production.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • 15% Agency Management - Agency management - partners with key stakeholders to allocate work to agencies and drive internal & external agencies to product the best results. Measure outputs and performance along with managing the creative team's relationship with key external partners.

    • 30% Creative Briefs - Translates partners' needs into an overarching creative project/brief intake, which is channel agnostic and universal to the creative organization and partners. Drives collaboration and partnership in the execution of the brief.

    • 15% Creative Coordination & Process - Provides strategic guidance on the creative approach, in partnership with Creative leaders, to ensure partner satisfaction and business success on key measures and KPIS. Coordinates the overall creative approval process.

    • 30% Partnership - Responsible for understanding the partner's business model and delivering against that business need. Responsible for driving high partner satisfaction and communicating progress/results to partners through collaboration with creative teams. Maintains big picture view, proactively solves problems and anticipates partner needs.

    • 10% Project estimates & budget - Project estimates & budgets. Ongoing management of budgets and spending as well as explaining services and cost factors. Ensures that budget is strategically allocated across teams to drive high performance creative.

    • This position reports to the Director, Creative Account Services

    Travel Requirements:

    • Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

    Working Conditions:

    • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Must be eighteen years of age or older.

    • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Strong, focused creative vision that supports branding for a private label premium bedding brand.

    • Must have strong printing technical knowledge and managerial skills.

    • Highly organized, detail orientated , project and goal driven for success.

    • +10 years experience in bedding and or decorative fabrics arena with a clear understanding of the marketplace and retail brands.

    • Proficient with color, and timely trend forecasts for the Home. Proven success in product design and the execution of print and woven fabrics.

    • Able to take merchandising strategies and create innovative collections that will support and grow the strategies.

    • Proficient with Nedgraphics, Adobe Illustrator-Adobe Photoshop, and PC platforms.

    • Strong verbal skills that can help lead an experienced design team and interact/ present to cross functional teams within the different areas of the brand. Has a strong understanding the PD process and is able to work closely with PD associates as a team for successful, innovative developments.

    • Ability to learn quickly in a fast pace retail environment, takes ownership to completion with consistent quality and delivery goals.

    Minimum Education:

    • The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma and/or GED.
