  • POSITION SUMMARY

    Drives a bus or large van to safely transport children and families and MHFC staff between homes or other designated points and various University of Rochester divisions and Mt. Hope Family Center and occasionally elsewhere. Provides safe,dependable service to clients and staff while maintaining client confidentiality, and possessing the ability to adjust to work scheduling changes and route changes as program needs change.

    SUPERVISION AND DIRECTION EXERCISED:

    None

    MACHINES AND EQUIPMENT USED:

    Gasoline powered 20 passenger bus and/or mini-van.

    TYPICAL DUTIES:

    Makes regularly scheduled and non-regularly scheduled trips to pick up and discharge passengers at specifically designated locations.

    Maintains safe, efficient, dependable and courteous service.

    Assists handicapped persons to board and leave bus as necessary.

    Maintains cleanliness of bus.

    Reports apparent malfunctions in equipment such as the motor, brakes, lights, wipers, door operation, etc., and need for preventative or periodic maintenance.

    May maintain basic records of passenger use, boarding and discharge volume at various stops, or the like.

    Performs other related duties,as needed.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Requires ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Requires a Class 2 license with a safe driving record and current 19A certification, plus 240 hours behind the wheel experience within the past 12 months, in buses seating more than 15 passengers. Requires OHS Central Register of Abuse and Child Maltreatment clearing.

    Pay Range

    Pay Range: $ 18.45 - $ 25.25 Hourly

    The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
