Big Data Developer

Job Description

An employer is looking to add a Big Data Developer to their team in St. Louis, MO. This person will join a large development team and support multiple internal applications for our client. The applications are on-premise and in the cloud so they will support both environments. They will focus on enhancements to their current applications, all written in Java, Scala, or Spark and assist with migrating applications to the cloud. They will work with application owners to understand application issues and work to develop enhancements

Skills and Requirements

Prior experience working on large scale distributed systems or data processing systems.

Proficiency in Java and/or Scala.

Expertise in SQL DB, No-SQL DB, Web Services, Data Intensive applications, Big Data Processing pipelines.

Exposure to Apache Spark, Apache Hadoop, Apache Kafka, AWS Services.

Always striving to implement coding best practices and scalable design.

Ability to model solutions for distributed processing problems. Scala engineering experience in a Big Data environment
