    responsibilities

    We are looking for a highly motivated Associate Scientist to join our small molecule structural biology and biophysics efforts within our department of Biotherapeutic and Medicinal Sciences as a contract role for 6 months. The successful candidate will be a part of a fast-paced and innovative environment actively pursuing unmet medical needs in the neuro science space. The primary focus of this role is to execute a variety of biophysical assays to help accelerate our drug discovery efforts from exploratory through lead identification and optimization.

    • Execute surface plasmon resonance (SPR) analysis for small molecules binding to protein and/or protein protein interactions.

    • Work both independently and as part of a team to ensure project team goals and deliverables are met.

    • Communicate effectively and present results in cross-functional team meetings

    • Trouble shoot and solve scientific problems with minimal supervision.

    • Be highly organized and have an ability to support several projects at the time.

    • Independently operate and maintain specialized SPR lab equipment.

    qualifications

    • M.S. or Ph. D. in Biophysics, Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry or related discipline and +2 years of relevant experience in an industrial or academic lab.

    • Prior experience with biophysical assay methods (especially SPR, and others such as ITC, DSF and MST).

    • Must be a great team player with strong communication skills.
