    Chemours is seeking an Administrative Assistant to join our growing Mining Operations team! This position will report directly to the Mine Manager at our Jesup, GA location.

    This position provides clerical support for mining and mineral processing facilities operating 24-hours per day, 7-days per week. Role will liaise between employees, management, visitors, and local community to support the overall success of the Jesup Mine. Position requires strong organizational skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervising personnel, co-workers, business professionals and the general public.

    The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

    • Ensure all work is performed within company, state, and federal regulations, standards, statutes, policies, and procedures.

    • Identify and promote opportunities to improve mine safety performance, act as a safety leader.

    • Prepare correspondence, memoranda, presentations, reports, etc.

    • Receive and screens office visitors to include providing MSHA Site Specific Hazard Training

    • Answer incoming calls and route to appropriate personnel.

    • Provide administrative support to others as requested.

    • Maintain and report accurate personnel attendance records for mine employees.

    • Receive and distribute mail for site office.

    • Draft and send site and company communications to mine employees as requested.

    • Maintain supply of necessary office supplies ensuring proper inventory control.

    • Work closely with Company Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) personnel targeting zero incidents and continuous improvement of mine site EHS performance.

    • Continuous improvement in mine management and administration approach, encourage initiatives intended to reduce safety risk, increase employee productivity and engagement.

    • Continuous improvement of employee performance and engagement by listening, capturing employee concerns and issues, and providing proactive support to mine employees on an individual basis aligned with mine management objectives and Chemours core values.

    • Work in a self-guided manner in the absence of supervision and demonstrate creativity, exercise sound judgment, and demonstrate initiative.

    • Report all personal injuries and EHS incidents and assist with both safety and environmental investigations.

    • Ensure a high standard of housekeeping is maintained in all assigned areas.

    • Support community and company activities and events, both on and off site, to include planning, allocation of resources and materials, and active engagement in support of Company objectives.

    • Organize and participate in site tours and job fairs.

    • Participate in weekly meetings and be prepared to report on administrative issues, capture action items and follow up from meeting discussions.

    • Responsible for establishing and maintaining official documents and records in appropriate files, including maintenance of Quality, Safety, Environmental, Engineering and Management files.

    • May prepare agendas, materials related thereto and see that all requirements are met.

    • May be responsible for following up on action of a committee, assigned group, meeting, etc., to ensure that decisions are implemented, contracts are prepared, and appropriate parties are notified.

    • May be asked to attend some meetings, seminars, etc. possibly to take notes or furnish information.

    • May do research for projects.

    • Assistance with travel arrangements as requested.

    • Collect data, help prepare and distribute quarterly safety reports.

    • Collect, maintain and report all necessary weekly/monthly data to corporate offices, to include but not limited to weekly itineraries, and payroll reports.

    • Attend meetings and classes as identified by the Company.

    • Support operations personnel in administration of the performance management process within the teams (goal setting, performance measurement, recognition, feedback, coaching & counseling).

    • Establish effective communications systems within the mine team focused on sharing of information and engaging employees in the success of the facility

    The following is required for this role:

    • High School Diploma required.

    • Thorough knowledge of modern office methods and procedures, filing, telephone techniques and office equipment, as well as English usage, spelling and grammar.

    • Thorough knowledge of policies and procedures of the company, ability to understand and interpret pertinent policies and procedures clearly and accurately.

    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervising personnel, co-workers, business professionals and the general public.

    • Ability to project a positive, concerned image to the public.

    • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

    • Sufficient skill in typing to complete 60 wpm accurately and the ability to take sufficient notes at meetings to prepare an accurate record of events.

    The following is preferred for this role:

    • Associate degree preferred.

    • Advanced training in typing and general office procedures and two years' experience performing complex and responsible stenographic and clerical duties.

    • Any equivalent combination of training, education and experience.
