Our innovative approach impacts and influences the community that we serve.What you will doThe main OR at St. Vincent's is a state-of-the-art surgical facility boasts 16 operating suites and performs 45 - 50 procedures each day. Common surgical procedures include: robotic, ENT, gynecological, neurological, vascular, open heart, colorectal, plastic, and urology. While St. Vincent's is not a trauma hospital, it is one of the first community hospitals to have the da Vinci® Surgical System robot. As Surgery Scheduler, you will have the opportunity to coordinate OR surgery schedules to maximize efficient use of operating rooms, equipment, and staff.Responsibilities:+ Works with physician offices to gather information needed to schedule surgeries consistent with department guidelines and accommodating physicians' requests and patients' needs.+ Assigns operating suites and equipment and blocks times to maximize efficient use of resources.+ Ensures that necessary demographic, billing and insurance information is entered into electronic medical records and coordinates with Patient Admitting as needed to prevent delays in scheduled surgery.+ May reschedule surgeries as needed to accommodate emergencies or other unanticipated events.What you will needEducation:+ High school or GED requiredWork Experience+ Previous computer experience preferred (Word, Excel, etc) Previous experience working with Cerner or One chart a plus+ Previous medical scheduling experience strongly preferred+ Must have knowledge of medical terms, surgery terms preferred; will cross train to do other duties as neededEqual Employment Opportunity As an equal opportunity employer, St. Vincent's and all its ministries comply with all applicable employment laws and regulations.
