    Under general supervision, provides the overall administration and management of AWARE’s Human Resources and Professional Development Teams.  This includes providing senior-level leadership to current team members by being a service-oriented leader with a proven track record of developing and implementing strategic initiatives, building relationships and achieving organizational goals. The Director of Human Resources must be able to plan and organize department priorities and job functions at a high level, but be able (and willing) to complete day-to-day HR functions as needed. 


    The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a collaborative management style and strong business acumen; a person capable of leading and mentoring the existing HR team and cultivating a culture of service and excellence among all employees and partners.  


    The Director of Human Resources is responsible for the overall administration and management of HR initiatives, including employee relations and performance management, benefit administration, EEOC compliance, compensation, recruitment and employment separation, orientation and ongoing training.  The Director of Human Resources’ primary focus will be to ensure that the daily activities of the HR Department are conducted in compliance with and in support of AWARE's strategic plan, goals and objectives. 



    The ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related disciplines, carry a current HR certification (SPHR, SHRM-SCP or equivalent), and have 10+ years of management-level Human Resources experience.  A BS/BA Degree is required. This is a high level position requiring strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.  The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to organize, analyze, synthesize and communicate complex data from various sources; communicate effectively with the public, colleagues, and professional staff in a courteous, professional manner; establish and maintain effective working relationships with other staff members, particularly other directors and the human resources staff and exercise good judgment in appraising situations and making decisions.
