Responsible for guiding, controlling, and directing the purchasing, receiving, storage, and preparation of all food items. Trains all staff in production techniques and interviews, evaluates, and initiates progressive disciplinary actions as necessary.
Displays and promotes professional, courteous, and cooperative interaction with hospital staff, patients/families, physicians, and leadership in meeting patient care and customer needs. Resolves all complaints.
Participates in maintaining relationships with sales representatives (i.e. Alliant, Ross, and all vendors used). Ensures sufficient food is ordered, received, and stored for all patients and customers.
Assist director in making sure all positions are covered taking into consideration scheduling vacation time of staff and staying within budget guidelines. Shares on-call responsibilities for the Food and Nutrition Department.
When needed in the kitchen, has the ability to prepare nutritious, palatable, and attractive food for the patients, the cafeteria, and all catered events.
Ensures that department floor supply, transfers, and catering requests are maintained and assists in billing at the end of each week.
Responsible to hit all financial/budget targets. Completes daily cash deposits.
Orders and maintains all inventory.
Responsible to maintain and enforce safety and sanitation guidelines.
Attends and helps facilitate monthly staff meetings.
Two years of cooking experience and one year of culinary production experience required.
